Swimming Program

Since 1998, swimming has been an integral part of Masar’s curriculum. Swimming is viewed not only as a sport, but as an artist medium with strong social implications.  Students spend 2 hours weekly in a swimming pool where they learn to swim, develop talents, confidence, social skills, their ability to give support, accept support, recognize their own strengths and weaknesses, and enhance their communication skills. Student’s experience and the dynamics in the pool are processed through poolside dialogue. Masar is the only school in Israel to integrate swimming into their weekly curriculum. Masar’s swimming program is being documented for the Department of Innovation and Experiments within the Ministry of Education for study and replication.
